BootROM 3.1.x and SIP 1.6.x will allow you to use HTTPS secure provisioning on your SoundPoint IP 301, SoundPoint IP 501, SoundPoint IP 600 / 601, and SoundStation IP 4000. Please note that BootROM 3.1.x or higher is not backward compatible with earlier BootROM versions. 

We recommend upgrading to the 3.1.x BootROM ONLY if you intend to use the security features in the SIP 1.6.x application. For all other customers, we recommend that you continue to use the 2.6.2 version of the BootROM. 

FURTHER, once you have installed BootROM 3.1.x on your system, you cannot go back to an earlier BootROM version without incurring significant expenses (such as the costs of re-programming your phones by Polycom, the costs of shipping your phones to and from Polycom, and costs arising from your system downtime.) 

By pressing the "Continue" button and proceeding with the download, you acknowledge that you will be responsible for all attendant expenses, should you decide to restore your system to an earlier BootROM version.
